About Me

Image of Jonathan Wylie

My name is Jonathan Wylie. I’m a certified teacher with 10 years classroom experience. I’ve taught in Scotland, England, and more recently, America. I’ve also worked as a freelance writer for a number of online blogs and publications like Scholastic, Microsoft EDU, ioSafe, PC World, the TechMediaNetwork, and more. Some of my latest writing can be seen at Hubpages.

Currently, I work as a Digital Learning Consultant for Grant Wood AEA where I help advise school districts in Eastern Iowa about the best ways to integrate technology in K-12 classrooms. It’s a great job and an amazing place to work!

I have extensive experience with the use of the iPad in education and I spend a lot of time creating and innovating with iPads. I have provided support and training on the iPad for educators and administrators locally, and across the state. However, I’m also a Google for Education Certified Trainer and a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert.

Despite what you may read here, I believe that there is no perfect device for schools. We are lucky enough to be living in a technological age where we use often use multiple devices because there are many great options. With the right support and training, O believe that teachers can do great things in the classroom with almost any device.

I love to connect and share my experiences with other educators, so feel free to connect with me on Twitter or follow me on Google+ so we can learn from each other. You can also find out more about me on LinkedIn or at: http://about.me/jonathanwyie
